With his rockets and spaceships flying routinely to low-Earth-orbit, Kingsley sets his sights on the Moon in the hope of funding his ultimate goal.

I loved Space for Sale, and was over the moon with excitement (pun intended) when this was released. I had high expectations going into Moon for Sale. Space had been a light, witty, comic take on Elon Musk's SpaceEx, and the main character, Kingsley, had this entrapping split of personality between flippant and awestruck. Much of that is carried forward into Moon - Kingsley is still Kingsley, but I was a bit disappointed (and it cost Pollard a star.)He's done very well maintaining a limited character pool. Unlike, say, the Honor Harrington series, the same characters reappear in this second book, and the new ones introduced have a purpose. What was not done as well was keeping their personalities separate - much of the dialog, from every character, is dripping with wit or satire. While individualized characters would have been nice, Pollard does recover some in the books more poignant moments, and they're breathes of fresh air.
The second reason I docked a star was because the book's pace was light-speed. Where the first one spanned a short time, and was paced evenly, Moon jumped itself years at a time, and I feel it got well ahead of itself by the end. Where the first book stayed basically on par with history's timeline, this one came across as more of Pollard's vision of the future (and, I assume, NASA's vision too.) To play Devil's Advocate, this book couldn't have been released so soon; to be on par with Space, Moon would have needed to wait several years.
What I truly appreciated about Moon was its continued humor and satire on the state of a real-world "space-industrial-complex." In this respect, he's the Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert of America's space program. There is a clear bias here, which won't agree with all its readers, but I personally appreciated the criticism through Kingsley's struggles against an entrenched bureaucracy.
And he makes fun of Justin Bieber. A lot. A very enjoyable part of the book.
